Turbo Solutions completed the design of a medium pressure ratio compressor for an air-cycle machine. The primary challenge in this project was to meet the customer’s very high efficiency goals within the geometric and other constraints imposed by the mating components. The scope of work for this project included meanline scoping, detailed aerodynamic design and CFD analysis, solid modeling and structural analysis, and the completion of detailed dimensioned and toleranced manufacturing drawings of all of the components. This project was completed on budget and schedule, and the results from testing at the customer’s facility indicate all project goals have been met.
